Прийшов час поновити верхній пост.

Цьому блогу на момент переїзду на dreamwidth (тобто в 2017 році) виповнилось 10 років. За цей час тут назбиралась чимала колекція пізнавальних дописів, як все ще пізнавальні, хоч з битими лінками і зображеннями. Блог починався російською мовою, а останні декілька років дописи або двома мовами, або українською. В майбутньому блог буде тільки українською.

З самого початку концепція цього блогу була переважно науково-популярна. Такою ми її і залишим. Оскільки я непогано розбираюсь в рослинній біології, то будем вважати це основним фаховим профілем. Приблизно орієнтуватись можна по тегам. 

З часом винесу сюди найважливіші і найцікавіші статті.

А це нехай тут поки що полежить, поки я придумаю, куди його подіти.

"Researchers with the European Food Safety Authority discovered variants of the Cauliflower mosaic virus 35S (http://independentsciencenews.org/commentaries/regulators-discover-a-hidden-viral-gene-in-commercial-gmo-crops/) in the most widely harvested varieties of genetically-modified crops, including Monsanto's RoundupReady Soy and Maze. According to the researchers, Podevin and du Jardin (http://www.es.landesbioscience.com/journals/gmcrops/article/21406/?nocache=1759778285), the particular 'Gene VI' is responsible for a number of possible consequences that could affect human health, including inhibition of RNA silencing and production of proteins with known toxicity. The EFSA is endorsing 'retrospective risk assessment' of CaMV promoter and its Gene VI sequences — in an attempt to give it a clean bill of health. It is unknown if the presence of the hidden viral genes were the result of laboratory contamination or a possible recombinant product of the resultant organism. There are serious implications for the production of GMO for foodstuffs, given either possibility."
